A picture of the five in the car park at work… which apparently we are not allowed to park in. Yeah, I do like to live on the edge alright.
There are some seriously talented people out there, wasted talent unfortunately. Not that I condone that sort of thing (Grafitti in public places).
The Limerick Photowalk took place on a dark, cloudy day. All in all, we were lucky not to get soaked!
OK, I know I said I was going to give the HDR thing a break, but I thought this might make a good example. And it kind of does… the shot itself is nothing special, it’s just the side of Curraghchase house at dusk. But I do like the Noise (normally evil as far as I am concerned) & Contrast – makes the whole thing kind of dark, almost scary, feeling.
Not delighted with this one. It’s pretty much how it looked to the eye at the time… but it feels fake and over processed. Think I’ll be giving this HDR lark a rest for a while.
Now I’m no expert, but this looks like it should have a mast! It has an unusual shape for a cruiser (Anne or Chris care to comment???). It also looks like it has been abandoned, but it is probably someone’s project. Well, I hope it is a project, they’re paying for the mooring, only to have it rot away.
I found this site about potential (some current) redevelopment projects for riverside Limerick: Riverchance
A shot of the Sylvester O’Halloran Bridge (from the Hunt Museum side). The bridge spans the Abbey River from the back of the Hunt Museum to the Potato Market and forms part of the walk from Arthur’s Quay Park over to King John’s Castle. It’s an interesting bridge that has aged well in terms of design (in my opinion) considering it was probably designed in 1986 (opened in March 1987).
We had a lazy day today after a late night. Sí and I went into the Hunt Museum (which it turns out is free on Sunday). They have a pretty impressive collection and it’s a good way to spend a few hours of a Sunday afternoon. Afterwards we had Ice Cream in the park, looking over King John’s Castle.
This is another HDR shot created using three exposures with Photomatix.
